Join us for an intimate tour and immersion workshop where you can experience a timeless art form, which still uses the basic techniques employed by the masters of ancient Rome.


  7. Our day begins with a 3-hour tour of Rome’s most breathtaking mosaics, from palaces to churches, the mosaics hidden throughout the city are a
    rare treat that go unnoticed by mass-tourism, and most treasured by the world’s art-lovers who appreciate the time, training and beautiful results of the mosaic art form.


  9. After saturating your senses with world-class masterpieces, we break for lunch at a quaint and reasonably priced cafe before entering Rome's most prestigious, family owned mosaic studio. This studio has produced some of the most prized mosaics of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, many of
    which are loaned to the Vatican Museums. This is where you can roll up your sleeves and learn how to create your own masterpiece with the direction of talented masters, and specialized craftsmen using traditional techniques.


  11. Adults and children alike have an opportunity to work one-on-one with master artists who share some of the secrets and centuries old techniques that have been used in mosaic production for over 4,500 years throughout the Mediterranean.


  13. A few of the things you will experience on this tour and workshop:

  14. •A guided history tour of some of Rome's most important mosaics. This includes the churches of Santa Maria Maggiore, Santa Prassede and Santa Pudenziana.

  15. •Visit to the mosaic restoration labs, production studios and galleries.

  16. •2-hour hands on mosaic workshop.
